Speed Dating and a project by Sandro Pianetti
Spieglerey is happy to announce the second “speed-dating” event in collaboration with Progetto 6000*.
The evening will be opened with a short input from Progetto 6000 artist Sandro Pianetti who has been invited for a two week residency at Spieglerey.
Sandro Pianetti’s work extends through various media, spacing between video, installations and sculptures. The use of moving images and sound are central, although he combines them with paintings, prints and photographs. In his work he reflects on the connection between artwork and the human being, which is often represented through the use of technologic elements or scientific principles. In recent years, he mainly… focuses on generative art — reflections about the interaction between humans and machines and how machines could help artists, not just producing the artwork but also being the artwork itself.
What is an arts speed dating, and why? It’s not always easy for young and emerging artists to connect with the art world. That’s why we invite artists, art historians, curators or whoever is interested or connected to art to meet, exchange ideas and discuss about the art we all care about.
For the event on the 17th of May we are looking for artists or art students and art historians or people working with art both in Zürich or abroad.

The project Transmutation or short «Transi» helps Spieglerey on going one step further in their effort to experiment, to connect, to diversify, to challenge. After having acted only pop-up wise previously, the project Transmutation aims to dive deep into the cultural scene of Zurich and to challenge the potential of all the cooperating artists. Through this half year project special attention goes to the creative processes leading to an actual art piece. Instead of just showing the final product of the processes, we want to focus on the personal artistic development, which takes place within every creative process.
Transi wants to become an atelier, wants to become a meeting point, wants to become a living room, wants to become an exhibition space, wants to become a whole, wants to become an Offspace.
Cheers and see you soon
