Without cocoa there is no chocolate, but without the next generation of cocoa farmers there is no cocoa. Mondelēz International as the world’s largest chocolate company with brands Milka, Cadbury and Toblerone. As one of the largest buyers of cocoa worldwide, has an interest in securing a sustainable supply of quality cocoa. Cocoa Life is Mondelēz International’s cocoa sustainability program.
Our speaker, Margreet Groot, will tell the story of how the Cocoa Life team learned that women are a catalyst for change in these cocoa communities and amplify the impact of the programme. Women’s empowerment is a cross-cutting theme of the Cocoa Life programme. It means being deliberate about equal opportunity through access to training and inputs, allowing women to improve their families’ livelihoods.
